# 49 – Ana Paula Tavares (1 poem)

28 04 2015

To cry not to cry

the plain stays the same

Cabinda proverb

we colonized life

each one in each other’s sea

the nails of distance

of word

of madness

filling memory with splinters

we fill up days with emptiness

above these walls

so white

two old flags

at half mast

salute each other, both solemn
